The Peacock Estate
If rustic is your style and convenience is your kinda thing, the Peacock Estate could be your dream wedding venue! It’s casual, it’s easygoing, and it offers everything you need to throw a banger of a wedding.
One of the truly fantastic things about this venue is how customisable it is. They’re extremely accommodating, allowing you to get creative with your caterers and decor.
However, they do provide a wedding coordinator to help you organise your wedding from start to finish! They’ll also be your trusty supervisor, advisor, and helper on your special day, so everything runs as smoothly as possible so you can focus on the true meaning behind the day - getting hitched to the person you love!
Location & Vibe
An hour outside of Melbourne and a few minutes away from Tyabb Beach, the Peacock Estate is just far enough out of the main city to be exciting and feel like you’re truly away from the hustle and bustle.
Set on ⅔ acre of beautiful wooded land, it has a lovely rustic feeling that puts your mind right at ease. There's nothing like a countryside wedding, and the decor, natural setting, and general atmosphere of the Peacock Estate makes you feel like you’re truly out in the wilderness.
The environment makes it easy to let loose and relax with friends and family, with a natural, airy feeling, multiple areas, festoon lighting strung up to light the festivities, and an outdoor bar to keep the fun and laughter flowing in liquid form.
Kids are welcome too, and to keep them safe and give their parents some peace of mind, there’s a handy fenced-in kids’ play area.
Wedding Inclusions
When you book your wedding at the Peacock Estate, you’re getting the whole place to yourselves (for 6 hours). You don’t need to leave the premises again until you’re married, fed, and ready to head home!
Church
The church dates back to 1914, and it has a lovely quaint atmosphere with a light, natural touch. Interestingly, it features original pressed tin walls, from back before World War 1! So there’s plenty of history here as well as beauty.
One of the loveliest things about the church is how light it is. The space is open and roomy, and the stained glass windows are a stunning pale green colour that’s both unusual and extremely pretty.
The floor is light natural wood, thin wooden chairs are provided, and everything else is white and minimalistic. One side features a wooden stage with two smaller windows, and the other end is adorned with the spectacular stained glass.
It’s also kitted out with everything you may need, including air conditioning/heating, a signage table, and an iPod dock with speaker system.
Barn
The Barn is a beautiful rustic space that’s ideal for a variety of things on your wedding day. It’s decked out with festoon lighting, featuring an indoor bar, a “Let’s Dance” neon-light sign, and wine barrel tables, you can choose to use the space for either a reception dinner or a dance floor.
Wooden slat walls and wood apple crates along the wall give it a super rustic vibe, perfect for spending a few hours eating, drinking, dancing, and spending time with your loved ones.
Outdoor Area
If the weather is nice, you’ll be able to take advantage of the outdoor area just outside the barn too. There’s an outdoor bar, so nobody has to trek back inside for a refill, and picnic tables and wine barrels covered with umbrellas make the atmosphere chilled out and comfy.
This is also where the fenced-in kids’ play area is situated. So take note that if the weather is on the rough side, the kids may have to stay inside with the big people!
Wedding Packages
The venue has three separate packages you can choose from, depending on your exact needs and wants for your special day!
Bells & Whistles: Includes all decor and furniture.
Blank Canvas: Flexibility for you to organise your own setup.
Luxe Package: Full service wedding package, with extra touches!
Contact the venue for more information on each package and to find out which would suit you best according to your plans!
While the venue doesn’t provide things like catering, photography, or live music, they do offer a number of recommendations on their website.
Capacity & Hospitality Options
The church can seat 100 people, and if you choose the Bells & Whistles Package, they’ll provide chairs for your guests. The barn can accommodate up to 120 people for the post-vows celebration.
It’s also important to know that there’s no accommodation on site. If you don’t want to travel back home after the celebration, or you want a night out at a hotel where you just don’t need to make yourself in the morning, there are plenty of options nearby.
If you’re making reservations at a nearby spot for guests or the bridal party, be sure to do it in advance! You can contact the venue to ask for their recommendations if you’re unsure.
Conclusion
The Peacock Estate is a stunning venue, out of the big city and near the sea! If rustic charm is your kind of thing, you’ll love the vibe and decor this venue provides.
Whatever your dreams for your special day, you can make them happen here! While they don’t offer catering on-site, they do have plenty of recommendations and can work with you to organise your perfect event, in all ways.
