Wedding Photography FAQ

How many years have you been wedding photographer?

Since 2004. Shooting 30 to 60 weddings and events each year since. I have documented weddings across almost all faiths and all cultures, I’ve also worked in hundreds of different venues and locations.

What is your style?

My style is natural. I do not direct people and instead observe and photograph real moments.

Do you do formal family group?

Yes! I usually do 3 group photos at weddings. Nice and simple.

Do you do posed couple portraits?

Yes. My couple shots are created in a very simple manner - they’re essentially a bi-product of a walk and chat in a nice setting. Usually I’ll set aside 10 minutes near to the start of the drinks reception for these, plus maybe another short session in the early evening of the summer months to capitalise on the golden hour light.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes. Around 50% of my couples add an engagement shoot to their wedding photography package.

Back-up equipment?

Yes. Always. I have multiple cameras and lenses. I’m covered.

Fully insured?

I have a comprehensive insurance policy that covers every element of my wedding photography services.

How many images? Do we get rights?

I typically present couples with between 300 and 500 images (based on a full day of cover). Couples are assigned unrestricted usages rights allowing them to print, use and distribute.

Can I add a second photographer?

Second photographers are perfect for weddings with 100 guests or more and where multiple preparation venues are involved. You can easily add one during the booking stages.

Black and white to colour ratios?

I shoot in colour and usually convert 60% to black and white during post production.

Is it a problem you’ve not worked at my venue?

Not at all. If it’s a new venue to me, I visit it either before the wedding day or early in the morning to familiarise myself rooms and grounds.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Mornington, I work across the Melbourne area, the state of Victoria and Australia in general (additional travel expenses for commissions outside of the Melbourne metropolitan and suburbs will apply).

How long after the wedding will we get our shots?

6 to 8 weeks following the wedding. Though I aim to deliver them sooner.

Can I see more work?

Of course! Get in touch and I can give you some links to complete weddings to go through.

How do we book?

The next step is to confirm how much wedding coverage you'd like, plus any extras like albums and engagement shoots, following this you’ll be sent a digital contract to review and sign.

Once booked, you can pay your wedding balance at any stage up to two weeks prior to your wedding date.

Can we chat?

Sure just get in touch and we can easily get something into the diary - face to face, Zoom/Skype or phone.
